Erciyes beginner holiday: 2 nights of all-inclusive ski or snowboard lessons, staying in Kayseri city centre

All-inclusive ski holidays on Kayseri's dormant volcano

Erciyes is a 3,917-metre dormant volcano rising above Kayseri in Central Anatolia, and its slopes hold one of Türkiye's largest ski areas: around 112 km of marked pistes across 41 runs, served by 19 lifts including two enclosed gondolas. The highest lifts climb to roughly 3,400 metres.
The season generally runs from December into April, with the most reliable snow between January and March. The resort is only about 25 km from Kayseri city centre, and Kayseri is easy to reach by plane or coach — which makes even a two-night ski break here genuinely worthwhile.
Our Erciyes ski holidays bundle the parts that usually take the most organising into one package: a hotel in Kayseri city centre, unlimited lift pass, ski or snowboard equipment and clothing, instruction, three meals a day and free transfers. Choose First Steps if you have never skied or snowboarded, or Experienced if you are already comfortable on the slopes.
Wide, gentle nursery slopes make Erciyes a good place to learn, while the long red and black runs higher up keep confident skiers busy. Cappadocia is a short drive away, so it is easy to add a few days of balloons and valleys before or after the snow.

Palandöken and Erciyes are Turkey's two highest and biggest ski resorts. We compare them on slope length, altitude, snow, travel, accommodation and who each one suits, and explain why the numbers vary so much between sources.

Yes, you can learn to ski without an instructor, but it is slower and riskier than it looks. Here is what you can teach yourself, what you can't, and how to do it safely if you decide to try.

There are three ways to stay for an Erciyes ski holiday: on the mountain at Tekir, at Hisarcık on the road up, or in Kayseri city centre. We compare the three on slope access, evenings, transport and budget.
