How Much Does a Ski Holiday in Turkey Cost? A Week on Erciyes Compared with the Alps
What a week's skiing in Turkey costs per person and how it compares with the Alps, broken down into lift pass, lessons, rental, clothing, accommodation, meals and travel.

A six-day lift pass at the best-known resorts in the Alps now often costs more than 400 euros, before lessons, rental, accommodation and food. No wonder more skiers are looking for cheaper alternatives. So what does a week's skiing in Turkey really cost? We compare it item by item, using Erciyes near Kayseri as the example.
What a ski holiday costs
A fair comparison needs the same basket:
- Accommodation
- Lift pass
- Ski or snowboard rental
- Ski clothing: jacket, trousers, gloves
- Lessons
- Meals, especially lunch on the mountain
- Flights and transfers
The Alps: some reference points
- Lift pass: According to a price comparison for 2025/26, several big Austrian areas such as Sölden, Ski Arlberg and Saalbach-Hinterglemm were already above 400 euros for a six-day high-season pass the season before, and areas like Kitzbühel and Ski amadé followed with increases. Smaller areas are cheaper.
- Lessons: On booking platforms, adult beginner group lessons in Austria start at roughly 57 to 170 euros a day depending on the ski school.
- Rental, accommodation and meals: All extra, and highly variable by resort and season.
In return, the Alps offer huge linked ski areas and an enormous choice of accommodation. For strong skiers who want a new valley every day, that's a real argument.
Turkey: a week on Erciyes
On Erciyes you can buy everything separately. The operator sells lift passes by number of rides: in 2025/26 a single ride cost 120 TL, 50 rides 4,000 TL and 100 rides 7,500 TL. Because of high inflation, lira prices change quickly, and hotel, rental, clothing, lessons and transfers are all extra.
An all-inclusive package is simpler. Early-booking prices for our 4-night Erciyes packages (Monday to Friday) in 2026/27, per person:
- Experienced package, 4 nights: $540
- First Steps beginner package, 4 nights: $622
Included:
- 4 nights at the five-star Wyndham Grand Kayseri
- Unlimited lift pass and magic carpet
- Ski or snowboard equipment, helmet and goggles
- Ski jacket, trousers and gloves
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner with soft drinks
- Free transfers between the airport, hotel and ski resort
- On the beginner package: a 4-hour beginner lesson, then instructors and piste leaders all day
For a long weekend there are 2-night packages (Friday to Sunday) from $356 per person. More detail in Erciyes ski holiday prices.
What else to budget for
- Flights: Usually via Istanbul to Kayseri; some European cities have seasonal direct flights. Book early, especially around New Year.
- Insurance: Travel insurance that covers winter sports.
- Personal spending: Drinks on the night out, and souvenirs such as Kayseri pastırma.
Overall, the gap is widest on the items that are expensive one by one in the Alps: lift pass, lessons, rental and clothing. On our packages they're all included in the price.
How to save
- Ski midweek: The 4-night packages run Monday to Friday, when the slopes are quieter.
- Book early: Early-booking prices can rise as places fill. The $100 deposit locks in the current price.
- Avoid Turkish holidays: New Year and the winter break (25 January – 5 February 2027) are the busiest.
- Stay flexible: You can cancel or change dates free of charge up to 8 days before departure.
Who is Turkey good value for?
- Beginners: Lessons, equipment and clothing are included. Note that, according to the package details, lessons are given in Turkish; if you need English, ask before booking. See skiing in Turkey: what to know.
- Combination trips: Skiing and Cappadocia are an hour apart.
- Budget-conscious skiers: Anyone who wants a full week at a fixed price.
If you're after vast linked ski areas and a different valley every day, the big Alpine resorts remain the better fit.
