Skiing Near Antalya: Saklıkent, Davraz or Erciyes?

Spending the winter in Antalya and fancy some skiing? We compare three options: Saklıkent for a day, Davraz near Isparta and Erciyes, a direct flight away. Distances, pistes, snow and who each one suits.

Antalya's long beach and blue bay with the Taurus Mountains rising behind the city

Antalya is mild in winter, yet snowy mountains rise above the city. No wonder so many visitors ask whether they can go skiing from here. You can, and there are three options: Saklıkent for a day, Davraz near Isparta for a day or two, and Erciyes for a proper ski holiday. Here's an honest look at each.

In short

  • Saklıkent: The closest, around 40–50 km from Antalya. A handful of runs and a short season that depends heavily on snow. Good for a first taste.
  • Davraz: About 140 km from Antalya, near Isparta. Around fourteen runs and chairlifts. Good for one or two days.
  • Erciyes: A direct flight from Antalya to Kayseri takes about 1 hour 10–20 minutes. Around 112 km of pistes: a full-size ski resort.

Saklıkent: a taste for a day

Saklıkent is a small resort in the mountains above Antalya, 37–47 km from the city centre depending on the source. It has a few runs of different difficulty. The season usually opens in late December and closes in March, but snow decides: in some years it arrived a month or more late, and in the driest winters there was hardly a season at all.

Worth knowing:

  • The road is a mountain road, so in winter you need a car with winter tyres or an organised trip.
  • Always check that the resort and lifts are open before you go.
  • Facilities are basic: fine for a first day in the snow and a few runs, limited if you want to learn properly.

Davraz: a day or two near Isparta

Davraz sits on the northern slope of a 2,635-metre mountain of the same name, about 26 km from Isparta. It's about 140 km from Antalya, about 125 km from Antalya airport and about 50 km from Isparta airport. It has around fourteen runs of different lengths and a few chairlifts, and Lake Eğirdir nearby looks beautiful in winter.

Davraz is clearly bigger than Saklıkent but still a small resort. It works well if you want a day or two in the snow as part of a trip around Antalya.

Erciyes: a proper ski holiday

If you want to learn to ski or spend several days on the slopes, it's worth flying to Kayseri. Pegasus and SunExpress fly direct from Antalya, and the flight takes about 1 hour 10–20 minutes; check schedules with the airlines.

Erciyes has around 112 km of marked pistes and 19 lifts, the highest reaching about 3,400 metres. The snow is far more reliable than in the south: best from January to March, and in 2025/26 skiing lasted until mid-May. Kayseri city is 25 km away and Cappadocia about an hour. Our Erciyes ski holiday guide covers the resort in detail.

Our packages include free transfers from Kayseri airport to the hotel and to the slopes every day, plus the lift pass, equipment, ski clothing and meals. You could, for example, spend a week by the sea in Antalya and finish with two nights on Erciyes.

Which one?

  • To see snow and do a couple of runs: Saklıkent, if it's open.
  • To ski for a day or two without moving hotel for long: Davraz.
  • To learn to ski or spend several days on the slopes: Erciyes.

The rest of the country's resorts are in our comparison of ski resorts in Turkey. Why the south can be short of snow, and how much you need to ski, is explained in how much snow do you need to ski.

Practical tips

  • Clothing: Even if Antalya is at 15 °C, it'll be freezing and windy in the mountains. See what to wear skiing.
  • Insurance: Many standard policies exclude skiing. Make sure yours covers winter sports.
  • Roads: For Saklıkent and Davraz, winter tyres are essential in snow; check the mountain weather in the morning before you set off.

For a first trip to Erciyes, the 2-night First Steps package is easy to add to an Antalya holiday. If you already ski, try the 2-night Experienced package.
